Who is Eddie
I froze in front of 40,000 people.
There was a fill coming up — one I'd improvised in the studio, kept it on the album, and then spent weeks trying to memorise exactly. When the moment came live, I overthought it completely. I froze. I played something simple just to get through it.
That moment changed everything. I stopped trying to copy fills — even my own — and started building a language instead.

I'm Eddie van Dongen. Conservatory trained (Codarts, cum laude), endorsed by Meinl, Tama, Evans and Vater. I've spent years transcribing and deconstructing what the great players are actually doing — and built a system that makes it clear, practical, and learnable.
